If you do not already have staff enabled you will not see a Staff & Schedule in the top navigation menu.
To enable staff select:
The coloured button with your initials in it

Toggle on Enable Staff Mode
Note: if you want to use Customer Pricing Levels to charge different labour rates for different customer types please go through the Customer Pricing Levels article and setup Staff Roles before you go any further in this article.
Once you are enabled for staff (and have setup your Staff Roles if you are using Customer Pricing Levels), select:

Setting up yourself and staff
You will now see your staff list and can start setting up your staff.
Business Owner/Administrator Setup:
If you are 'on the tools yourself' you will first want to go into your settings to change your Role name (this is what will print on the invoice if you want this level of detail) and setup by selecting:
1 - Click on your name (highlighted in blue) to populate your settings. You will have full security rights to Sparky as you are setup with the Business Owner /Manager/Admin privileges
2 - Scroll down and select edit to edit/populate your settings, mandatory settings are marked with a red asterisk. Fields appear as per below screenshot:
Name is your name and you can choose for this to appear on line items on an invoice.
Role will be printed on an invoice (should you choose this option) on the labour line items
Rate Cost is an estimate of what you cost per hour, this is necessary for you to analyse job profitability via the job variance report but is not mandatory
Hourly rate price is your default chargeout rate for customer work.
Mobile and email addresses are mandatory.
Colour selection will let you choose the staff member’s colour on the resource schedule
When complete, scroll down and select done.
Now you are ready to start setting up staff by selecting the + button and filling out the fields as per the above screenshot.
Determine security level:
You can give your staff member full access by selecting the Business Owner /Manager/Admin
Staff/Subcontractor Role can see your buy price for products in Sparky whereas Staff/Subcontractor Role (Limited) does not see your buy price.
If either of these are selected, you will see the below security options:
Select the Do not send staff access for now checkbox if you do not want to send the Sparky app to them right away (you can go back into their details and select the Resend Login button when you are ready to get them going).
Editing staff:
You can adjust staff details, security settings, send the sparky app or revoke their access to Sparky by clicking on their name in the staff list.

You can toggle between calendar and resource view
We recommend resource view, the default view can be set in Calendar Settings as it is easier to see and fill up available time as well as giving you a clearer view of your staff availability. You can also more easily shift jobs around to different times and staff in this view.
On the left, Jobs are listed in the categories of:
To be assigned
Assigned
Jobs in Progress
You can Schedule existing job via any of the following methods:
Opening the job on the left side of the screen and entering info
Dragging and dropping the job onto the schedule
Clicking into the schedule where you want the job scheduled
Selecting the + button and then existing job.
You can schedule a new job by either of the following methods:
Clicking in the schedule where you want to schedule the new job
Selecting the + button and then new job.
Options in job card:
o Job Card will display the Job Description.
o You can also write notes which your staff will see when they select the job in Sparky.
Colour code on the left edge of a job shows the job status:
You have the option to SMS staff after you have done your work in the schedule.
Scheduling staff on an activity
An activity is a non-billable activity that you would like to record (e.g. Sales, TAFE, lunch etc).
Scheduling staff on activity in the same way that you schedule a new job.
You can setup activities in Calendar Settings.
